Energy Efficiency Surveys
(SAP)
New homes are usually energy efficient because they are built to modern
insulation standards, but older houses and industrial properties are
not built to the same standards.
There is a Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) for determining the energy efficiency
of a property. A SAP rating is required for all new-build dwellings
and those which are undergoing significant material alteration (such
as the addition of an extension to the dwelling). The SAP uses a
scale of 1 to 120, with 1 being very poor through to 120 being excellent.
A typical SAP for an average house in England is about 45. A 'SAP2001'
rating on a house built to current Part L building regulations would
be closer to 80-100 or more SAP points.
We will undertake the SAP survey, prepare a report and make recommendations
for improving insulation, heating controls etc. to maximise energy
efficiency. The savings on fuel are guaranteed to off-set the cost
of the survey.
